CALL MEETING TO ORDER

Chairperson Anthony called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

None.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

After asking that the recording secretary include the company name (CREC) in the introduction by Ms. Anthony of last month
COMMUNICATION/REMARKS OF THE EDC CHAIRPERSON

Chairman Anthony reported that Filenes would be coming to the EDC for tax abatement in the future. Ms. Anthony said that she and Mr. Craig Stevenson of CERC met to discuss Evergreen Walk. Mr. Stevenson is gathering information and he will make a complete presentation to the commission in four to six weeks. They also met with Dr. Woods, Superintendent of Schools, where they discussed the Board of Education
OLD BUSINESS

Commissioner David Fields and Commissioner Mark Lillis of the Business Retention Committee, distributed to members, a revised business survey for their comments and suggestions. The committee discussed the document and provided feedback. The completed version will be submitted at the next meeting.


NEW BUSINESS

Ms. Anthony introduced Attorney Michael Ziska, of Murtha & Cullina. Mr. Ziska discussed various Land Use Commissions and the statutory regulations that are specifically relevant to the work performed by the Economic Development Commission.
The members thanked Attorney Ziska for a very informative presentation and he left the meeting.

Election of Officers

A motion to nominate Marjorie Anthony for Chairperson of the Economic Development Commission was made by Ms. Murtha and seconded by Ms. Futter.

A motion to close the nominations was made by John Mitchell and seconded by Mark Lillis and unanimously carried.

The nomination of Ms. Anthony for Chairperson of the EDC was put to a vote. The vote was unanimous for Ms. Anthony as Chairperson of the Economic Development Commission.

A motion to nominate Joseph Carino for Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Commission was made by Terri Kyc and seconded by Jim Murray.

A motion to nominate Janis Murtha for Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Commission was made by Mark Lillis and seconded by Edwina Futtner.

A motion to close the nominations was made by John Mitchell and seconded by Mark Lillis

A motion to hold the election by a paper ballet was made by Janis Murtha and seconded by John Mitchell, and put to a vote. Mr. Carino was elected Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Commission.

GENERAL DISCUSSION

None.


ADJOURNMENT

A motion to adjourn was made at 9:30 by Mr. Lillis, seconded by Mr.  Slicer and unanimously carried.
